I like the DK Top 10 series of books. They lack depth but if you've only got a limited amount of time in an area it'll show you lots of pretty pictures and colorful maps to help you navigate. Naturally, something this small with lots of photos is going to be short on details.I've been planning my trip to Venice using this book as the primary source and Lonely Planet Venice and The Veneto (City Travel Guide) as my backup/more indepth source. DK books have been in my pocket for years so it's a brand that I trust. What I generally like about DK books and this book in particular is not only the top sights, but the top things to see while I'm there. San Marco Square, for instance, is an epic square but what are the important things to see and know? The only thing that I'm irked is that there's a great description of what to see on the Grand Canal, but there's no map to go along with it. Sort of defeats the purpose of the Top 10 things to see if you can't find out where they are.I also purchased (and returned) the Kindle version - I thought it would be as nice as the paperback copy, but it's a mess. Save yourself the hassle and buy the paperback.Overall, this is a great book, but it all depends on what your style of travel is and your scope of the trip. But I'm happy that I bought this book, which is more than I can say aboust most travel books I buy.

We are doing a 12 day Mediterrean cruise and this is perfect to tuck in a pocket. We are spending an extra two days in Venice and wanted to be sure we hit the top sites. I have bought a lot of DK Eyewitness guides before and they are great. Not too much information and not too big to have to carry around with you. The pictures are beautiful and the maps are more than enough for the 2 days we have to see Venice.

Good size for traveling but all the info is online for free. That being said we used it a lot while traveling in Italy. Worth the cost.

About the Author

Carolyn Strom Collins and Christina Wyss Eriksson grew up reading the Little House books. Hoping to answer some of their questions about Laura and Little House, they visited every Little House site and museum and did in-depth research on Laura and her family. The result is The World of Little House. Both authors live with their families in the St. Paul-Minneapolis area of Minnesota, about a four-hour drive from where Laura lived in On the Banks of Plum Creek. In addition to writing The World of Little House, they are also the authors of My Little House Crafts Book, The Anne of Green Gables Treasury, and The Little Women Treasury.

My book is beautiful, and I can't wait to really get into it, but I'm so disappointed that it was printed upside down! The beautiful hard cover is upside down on my book. Thankfully the paper outer cover covers it and keeps me from looking like a dummy, reading my book upside down, but I'm really disappointed. I collect all things Little House, and so this misprinted book will be in my collection a long, long time.On the plus side, lots of good info inside. I love love love the floor plans. I see that there is a lot more information in this book than in previous versions.ETA: I'm not sure now that there is more information than previous. I think it might be exactly the same. The copyright date isn't even updated.

What a hit!!!! My 7 year old granddaughter absolutely could not put this book down after I gave it to her. Wonderful book that even contains several very useable recipes. This book is an absolute must for any Little House fans.

I have spent the better part of a year reading the Little House series to my kids and planning lessons and unit studies to go along with it. This book is a great companion because it contains, recipes, and craft along with tons of background information. We have had a lot of fun learning about the pioneers like Laura's family.

I am loving this book! It's very pretty with beautiful illustrations. Very interesting to read, as well.

We love Laura! This book is SO fun to explore. There is a floor plan for all of the house Laura has lived in and writes about. There are also recipes and instructions for some of Laura's crafts. If you love Little House books, you'll love this book!!

This is a good book if you live in Florida or are interested in it. There are a quite a few things in it I didn't know. I have read several of Bill O'Neill's trivia books, and I think the quality is improving. They are now better written and more accurate; I spotted a few factual errors in a couple of the first ones.

I don't live in Florida, nor have I visited it, but this book offers really good history and trivia about the state. To me, Florida is home to oranges and Disney World and that's it, but Bill's book opened my eyes to more history and informatioon about Floria then I'd ever known! Regardless of if you are a Floridian or not, ypu will enjoy this book, it's fun to read! Recommended.

I am a Floridian, and The Great Book of Florida: The Crazy History of Florida with Amazing Random Facts & Trivia (A Trivia Nerds Guide) really covers about anything anyone would care to know about our great (and sometimes quirky) state. I worked for Walt Disney World when they opened, in October, 1971, and I learned many new things about Disney. I really enjoyed this e-book, and would highly recommend it to anyone who has any connection with, or interest in Florida.

Decent book with random information and facts about Florida. Some facts are more interesting and more useful than others. Mostly it's a good conversation starter.

I have lived in Florida twice, and learned more from the book than I did living there. I love how he gives so much information while not being the least bit boring.

As an addicted to Trivia, I find "the Great Book of Florida" very informative and useful. You will learn and understand the most relevant historical, geographic, cultural, and cool facts about this beautiful state. It is well organized, very fun, and easy to read.
