After viewing the National Geographic Genius series on Picasso, I became interested in Francoise Gilot. This book is remarkable and this woman is brilliant. Her accounts of her life with Picasso, his association with other prominent artists, political figures and his philosophy on art and living, are fascinating. This book is a peek behind the curtain of the daily life of this multifaceted "genius". As far as I am concerned, Francoise Gilot is a genius in her own right. The book is well written and the stories are warmly entertaining.
A fascinating read. Can't put it down. Francoise translates Picasso very well, and as a painter, I'm soaking it up.
Honestly how Gilot remembered all that is amazing. It was written soon after leaving Picasso so that contributed to its accuracy. Sounded so logical and honest.
“Life with Picassoâ€, which portrays Picasso as a womanizer and a selfish jerk, is laden with uninteresting mind-numbing minutia. It is as though the author Francoise Gilot tape-recorded her entire time with Picasso and included every conversation verbatim in her book. The book would have benefited greatly from a heavier-handed editor.
Wonderful book about Picasso and Francoise Gilot. Bought it for myself and another for a friend. Thanks.
This book is a little slow reading. I am enjoying it, but it doesnt have the pull to get me reading all the time.
This memoir is a brilliant and enlightening read for all Picasso lovers.
This was a very intriguing book. The text reads beautifully.
