I read the reviews of the Galaxy S8 "booklets" and saved my money - but did risk one. It turned out to be worthless. So I was more than ready when this book came out. This is what I was looking for. It is a complete and thorough guide the Galaxy S8! I paid cash for my Galaxy S8...a lot of cash....only to have no clue how to use it well. Now, I have the instructions I need, that I can understand, that show me how to use every feature of my new phone. With an index too!! The book is well written and it explains all the techie terms in layman's language even I can understand.

I went from a basic phone to the Galaxy S8 Active and wanted a book that would explain all of the advanced features. This book does a good job of explaining the basic features in a folksy and clear way, but it is lacking on explanations for advanced features. I found that I learned more about the advanced features by asking my friends and watching Youtube videos. For example, I wanted to download my music library to my phone, but there was nothing in the book on how to do it. From another source, I learned that there was a syncing app that I could download. There is nothing about the Google Assistant (Okay Google), which seems to be superior to the Bixby assistant that is in the phone. This information is important for people switching from iPhones or for new users in order to get the full use of the phone. Additionally, the index is not as thorough as it should be. It was frustrating at times to try to use the index only to find that basic words and functions were omitted. I gave it a 3 star rating because it explained some things very well, but it was lacking on explanations of some of the features that motivated the purchase of such an advanced phone.

I always use these books as they are faster than trying to find answers on the web although I use the web too. Many things we already know as we begin each of these books, but once we get deeper into details, things change and that's when these books are helpful. I recently bought the Samsung 8 and yes there are differences in the phone from my 5.

It still leave unanswered questions. So, I am getting The Samsung Galaxy S8 Complete Unofficial Guide: Unlock the Potential of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and hope it will fill in the gaps.

I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and even though I've been an Android fanatic for quite some time, this book was very enlightening. Well written and a lot of specific content that I found to be very helpful. I now feel much more confident and I'm looking forward to using and benefiting from many of the features that were spoken about in this book. Thank You

Darn good book. Extras in it that none of the other ones I got even mentioned. If you have used a Samsung Galaxy some of this may be old hat to you but the S8 has bells and whistles that this book covers so it's worth the price. Good detailed explanations.

Good easy reading. I wish there was more info about Bixby but at the time of printing I think it was and still is a work in progress.

I like the book. Don't get me wrong. But it is missing many things including where you can put stuff on the right side/the right edge. I will need to refer back to the manual and possibly another book to fully understand it all. Plus there are times when the information contained isn't exact although I recognize that can happen with operating system updates. Overall good book for beginners. I wanted this to be more in depth than the manual was.
