It acknowledges previous researchers and writers of the history of this community north of OLD Albuquerque, NM. There are lots of black and white photos, many recent photos by the current Mayor of Los Ranchos, Larry Abraham. The maps and diagrams are interesting, if sometimes too small or blurry to be completely enjoyed. There are many, detailed footnotes and lots of sources used and listed. I got this for my mother, who has an old, old house in Los Ranchos and there was a mention of her house. What I know about Kit Sargeant’s work in community building, writing, researching, especially anthropology and first-person interviews seems nicely included here. A good read!

Poor printing job...some pictures are dark, not focused...even the cover. Did not even try to read it...sent it back.

This book was a gift to a family member and I am struck by the amount of work that went into the research. This is not a coffee table book with high quality images -- the images are black and white and not heavily edited. But that doesn't matter. It's a wonderful, data rich resource.
